Projects

Apart from educationl programmes, the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre is also an production centre that heads large scale Russian and international projects.
Among those are
"Festival of Italian Culture in Russia" held in 2003,
"Year of the Russian Culture in Germany" (2004),
"Year of Russia in Italy" and its "Russian Festival in Rome" (2004),
"Italian Season in Russia" (2005),
The Holland Festival in Amsterdam dedicated to 100th anniversary of D. Shostakovich (2006),
"Year of Russia in Azerbaijan" (2006),
The Festival of Russian Culture in South African Republic (2009).

Among those who participated in the events were the leading figures of world art such as conductors Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich, Zubin Mehta, Myung-Wun Chung, Riccardo Muti; ensembles "Maggio Musicale Fiorentino", Santa Cecilia Orchestra, La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra, Teatro Piccolo di Milano, ballet groups of Misha van Hoeck, "Aterbalet" dramatic puppet theatres.

The International Opera Singers' Contest of Galina Vishnevskaya became one of the biggest projects of the Centre recently. It takes place every two year now.

In the near future the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre is planning to participate in the "Year of Russia in France" and "Year of France in Russia" and hold the Internatiobal Placido Domingo Contest of Opera Singers "Operalia" in Moscow.
